This case study showcases Fg Wilson, a leading global diesel generator manufacturer under Caterpillar, successfully delivering a highly reliable backup power solution for the London Skyline Bank Center. Three 11kV 2000kVA containerizedgenerator sets were successfully put into operation. Leveraging its outstanding engineering capabilities and efficient execution, the entire installation and commissioning process was completed three months ahead of schedule, providing a robust power barrier for the continuous and stable operation of the bank's core businesses.

As critical infrastructure in the financial industry, the bank center has stringent requirements for power continuity. A power outage would directly impact core operations such as transaction settlement and customer data security, causing incalculable losses.

The London Skyline Bank Center urgently needed a high-power, highly reliable backup power system. After multiple rounds of screening and evaluation, FG Wilson was ultimately selected as the partner. Leveraging its extensive experience in the financial sector and its leading parallel operation technology, FG Wilson provided a customized solution for the project.

During project implementation, Wilson faced multiple construction challenges. The three containerized Generator Sets and their associated equipment needed to be installed in a pre-designated dedicated equipment room on the building's roof. However, the room was already equipped with solar panels, which not only severely limited the construction height but also resulted in extremely limited space within the room, significantly hindering equipment hoisting, positioning, and cabling.

Furthermore, as a densely populated and busy core building, the bank center required strict noise control during construction to avoid disrupting normal operations, further increasing the construction difficulty.

The three 11kV 2000kVA generator sets delivered this time operate in parallel. Through a digital automatic synchronous controller, they achieve precise matching of voltage, frequency, and phase, and feature load balancing, fault redundancy, and black start functions. They can dynamically adjust their operating status according to the bank's actual power load, ensuring seamless switching within milliseconds in the event of a mains power outage. This provides a continuous, stable, and clean power supply for the bank's core operations, fully meeting the stringent requirements of the financial industry for power supply reliability. As a typical application of parallel generator sets in the financial sector, this project also demonstrates the significant advantages of parallel systems in scenarios with high load and high reliability requirements.
